Two Faculty Positions
The Palmer School of Library and Information Science is searching for two faculty members to join an exciting team at Long Island University (LIU). One is in the tenure track and one will be a one year Visiting appointment. Both appointments will be effective September 1, 1997.
We want faculty who excel in the classroom and who are (or have the potential to be) catalysts in the profession through their research and leadership. Successful candidates will be energized by a collegial and creative environment, will thrive on initiating and contributing to change, and will be student-centered. An earned doctorate (or one near completion) is required.
Of particular interest are scholars whose teaching and research interests address the following:
The School has an undergraduate degree program (B.S. in Information Transfer), a masters program (M.S. in in Library and Information Science) and has a proposal for a doctoral program in the review process. State approved advanced certificates in Archives and Records Management are also offered. The C.W. Post Campus is 25 miles west of Manhattan. The M.S. degree is offered here and in Manhattan. Selected masters level courses are offered at LIU's Westchester Campus, 30 miles north of Manhattan.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualification. LIU has an outstanding fringe benefit package, including tuition remission for dependents.
